Early Head Start:
- Home-based program for pregnant
women and young children up to age 3,
with emphasis on healthy pregnancy,
child development, education, family
self-sufficiency, parenting skills, and a
smooth transition into preschool
Head Start:
- Comprehensive pre-school program that
provides education, health, nutrition, and
other social services for low-income
children, ages 3-5, and their families
Child Care Assistance:
- Helps families afford child care for children younger
than 13 whose parents are working or going to
school
Family Development:
- Family Development is a holistic, in-home visitation program that helps individuals and families move from economic uncertainty to stability by using their strengths to set and accomplish goals
Health Coverage Assistance:
- Provides assistance enrolling in, using, and keeping health insurance through Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women (CKF PEPW), Medicaid, Hoosier Healthwise, HIP, and Marketplace.
- Health insurance enrollment assistance is free
Utility Assistance
- Helps pay a portion of heating bills in the winter months
Housing Assistance
- Various programs may help locate housing and pay for a portion of rent and other housing related needs. Please visit mybrightpoint.org/housing to learn more about our Housing Assistance programs and eligibility
Payment
- Most programs are free or low-cost; each program has specific eligibility requirements
Eligibility
- Early Head Start: For pregnant women and children under 3 with family income at or below 100% of poverty guidelines
- Head Start: Child must be at least 3 years old by the school entrance date and have a family income at or below 100% of poverty guidelines
- Child Care Assistance: Parents or guardians in the household must work or be in school. Children receiving care must be under 13. Income qualifications apply.
- Family Development: For families at or below 200% of the poverty guidelines; must contact Family Development Department or 211 to complete referral
- Healthcare Coverage Assistance: Eligibility varies by age, family size, and income; Visit myBrightpoint.org/ckf for more information.
- Utility Assistance: Household income below 60% of the State Median income. Available for renters and homeowners.
